American Red Cross first aid training

The American Red Cross Lifeguard training course teaches lifeguard candidates the skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergenciesincluding drowning. Includes First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.

PRE-REQUISITE:    Must be at least 15 years old and pass an endurance swim of 300 yards including: 100 yards of front crawl, 100 yards of breast stroke, and 100 yards combination of both. You must be able to swim 20 yards using front crawl or breast stroke, surface dive to a depth of 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10 pound object, return to the surface, swim 20 yards on your back to the starting point, and climb out of the pool with the object within 1 minute and 40 seconds.

UNDER 18?   A legal guardian must attend the pre-requisite swim with the student. Bring proof of age: drivers’ license or birth certifi cate.
